Getting the most out of Kidslox

Kidslox offers a lot of features and information about your child’s device use. Don’t let it overwhelm you though! Start with your highest priorities, and work the rest out as you get more familiar with Kidslox.
What’s your biggest priority?

Putting limits on screen time

Check out the Time tab. Use Daily Limits to set a hard cap on each day’s screen time. Add or subtract time as needed using the Adjust Time button on the Home tab.

Blocking apps

You can block apps on your child’s device by going to the Apps tab and choosing Block Apps. Apps blocked here won’t be available to your child at all. On iOS devices, this feature is more effective with Kidslox Advanced Features set up

Confidence my child won’t remove Kidslox

On iOS devices, our Anti-Tampering feature requires Advanced Features to be set up. To do this, you need a computer, your child’s iOS device, and a cable to connect the two. Then go to https://advanced.kidslox.com/ on the computer, and follow the instructions.
On Android devices, go to the Apps tab, and switch the Stop app deletion toggle to the on position.

Setting scheduled breaks from screens

Use Schedules to choose specific times of the day or week when you want the phone to be off. Weekday bedtime schedules are set from 8pm to 7am by default, but can be adjusted easily in the Time tab, Schedules section

Seeing where my kid is

Go to the Geo tab. See your child’s current location on the map. Swipe up to see where they’ve been and set up zones, so you get notified when they arrive at or leave a specific place.

Turning my kid’s phone off remotely

Try the Modes tab. There you’ll find our famous 3-way-toggle, which lets you instantly switch your child’s device to Lock mode in a moment (in Lock mode all apps are unavailable).

Knowing what sites, apps and videos my child is visiting, using, & viewing

Head to the Statistics tab. You’ll find a wide range of information about what your child uses their phone for. This includes search history, sites visited, TikTok and YouTube videos viewed, and a whole lot more.

Confidence my kids aren’t seeing inappropriate content

Kidslox web filters are on by default. If you want to add a specific site to the block list, go to Apps, then Content blocked by you. Also, check the Statistics tab and scroll down to see the results of the Nudity scanner, which checks the gallery of your child’s device for nude images.
